Preparing for Your First Facial in Months
Let’s take a quick dive into the best way to prepare your skin for your first facial in months.
#1 - Avoid exfoliation
First, be sure to skip exfoliating and using a retinol for three to four days prior to your facial. While exfoliation is a vital part of any skincare regimen, you don’t want to go into your treatment with already irritated and inflamed skin – especially when it’s been a long time between visits.
#2 – Use SPF
For the same reason, it’s also important to avoid getting a sunburn in the days leading up to your facial. This means avoiding excess sun exposure and never missing your SPF.
#3 – Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate
Getting enough water to hydrate your skin cells from within is vital to keep your skin smooth, healthy and youthful. This is especially true two days before and after your facial in order to help your skin flush metabolic waste to get the most beautiful results.
#4 – Share your routine and concerns
If you’ve made changes to your skincare routine in the months since your last facial, it’s important to update me so that I can provide expert help to address any concerns.
#5 – Book your next appointment
And finally don’t forget that regular facials are part of the best practices to maintain the health of your skin. And since your skin cells renew about every month you should plan to get a facial just as often.
I am so excited to be back and can’t wait to see you!
With love and gratitude,
